NAVIGATE SAFELY

- The speed limit for motor-boats on Lake Garda is 20 knots.
- For navigation by entering, leaving and inside ports, the speed limit is 3 knots.
- Within a radius of 300 meters from the coast you must proceed at limited speed.
- During the day the speed limit is 20 knots, at night the speed limit is reduced to 5 knots.
- All means of public transport always have priority.
- It is always necessary to maintain a distance equal to or greater than 100 meters from boats carrying out scheduled services and/or means of professional fishermen. These vessels must not be obstructed in their route.
- The minimum distance to be maintained between two boats of different types from those mentioned above is 100 metres.
- Maneuvers into and out of ports must always be carried out perpendicular to the coast and at low speed.
- All pleasure motor-boats and sailboats with an auxiliary engine must be covered by third party liability insurance. A certificate of insurance must always be kept on board.
- It is mandatory for the driver to keep an identity document and/or boat license on board.
- It is mandatory for all children weighing less than 40 kg to wear a life jacket during navigation. The life jackets for adults are stored in the appropriate lockers.

Those who are caught driving while intoxicated may incur a fine of between €2.066,00 and €8.000,00.
