NAVIGATE SAFELY

Before venturing out by boat on Lake Garda, it is good to know what the regulations are for correct and safe navigation, thus avoiding incurring unpleasant fines.
We also advise you before leaving to take a reference point to then be able to orient yourself.
Always remember to always keep a distance of at least 500 meters from the coast and proceed at a moderate speed.

The speed limit for motor-boats on Lake Garda is 20 knots.
For navigation by entering, leaving and inside ports, the speed limit is 3 knots.
Within a radius of 300 meters from the coast you must proceed at limited speed.
During the day the speed limit is 20 knots, at night the speed limit is reduced to 5 knots.

All means of public transport always have priority.
It is always necessary to maintain a distance equal to or greater than 100 meters from boats carrying out scheduled services and/or means of professional fishermen. These vessels must not be obstructed in their route.
The minimum distance to be maintained between two boats of different types from those mentioned above is 100 metres.
Maneuvers into and out of ports must always be carried out perpendicular to the coast and at low speed.
All pleasure motor-boats and sailboats with an auxiliary engine must be covered by third party liability insurance. A certificate of insurance must always be kept on board.
It is mandatory for the driver to keep an identity document and/or boat license on board.
It is mandatory for all children weighing less than 40 kg to wear a life jacket during navigation. The life jackets for adults are stored in the appropriate lockers.

Water skiing and other activities involving the use of towed lines are prohibited unless authorised.

Those who are caught driving while intoxicated may incur a fine of between €2.066,00 and €8.000,00. Article 53 of the Nautical Code (171/2005), paragraph 1-bis, on the subject of financial penalties and license suspension, refers to a condition of “drunken state” of the captain or driver of pleasure craft, from which it can be deduced that the “nautical” alcohol tolerance parameters may be different from those envisaged for road traffic. In the northern area of Lake Garda (Trentino Region) motorized navigation is prohibited. The border runs between Corno di Reamol (western shore, north of Limone del Garda) and the Galleria del Confine (eastern shore, north of Malcesine).

Faccio questa recensione dopo qualche mese, ma mi ero ripromessa di farla! Allora ho noleggiato una barchetta(senza patente) per me e la mia famiglia, per una mezza giornata. Bellissima esperienza, ora non mi ricordo esattamente quanto avevo speso ma per una mezza giornata forse 250,00 (ma potrei sbagliare). Ricordo solo che in confronto ad altri che avevo visto era un pò più economico. Ragazze alla reception gentili! Ma i ragazzi che ci hanno consegnato la barca , troppo simpatici! Unica nota negativa, non ci è stato detto prima di pagare il parcheggio, che c'è un pass o un parcheggio a parte!

Wir hatten 9.30 die Bootsübergabe. Das ganze hatte sich um 20 Minuten verschoben, was aber nicht schlimm ist, da man die Zeit wieder obendrauf bekommt. Der Ablauf hat super geklappt. Die Übergabe war unkompliziert und die Rückgabe auch. Das Boot (Gabry) war in einem Top Zustand 👍(war ziemlich neu). Das Boot wurde danach betankt und wir mussten 8 Liter, zu 2.20€, bezahlen. Den Benzinpreis fand ich ok, da der "Bootswart" ja in den Hafen fahren musste um zu tanken. Der Preis für das Boot ist mehr als Fair. Für 4h am Vormittag sollten wir 120€ bezahlen. Dann bekamen wir noch 15% Rabatt und haben dann 105€ +16€ Benzin bezahlt. Die Kaution von 500€ wurde nach der Abnahme vom Boot sofort storniert. Die Mitarbeiter waren auch sehr freundlich. Wir können Rappydrive weiterempfehlen 👍.

Mega! Super Preise, tolle Angebote, saubere Boote und nettes Personal. Wir haben für 160€ 4 h ein Boot mit Dach bekommen (ohne Führerschein!) und mussten nicht mal den Tank zahlen. Sie haben einem erklärt wo man hinfahren kann und darf und auch wie man das Boot fährt. Ich empfehle es auf jeden Fall!

Update: Ich habe die Bewertung auf 5 Sterne geändert. Warum? Die schnelle, sehr kundenfreundliche und verständnisvolle Reaktion des Geschäftsführers ist das, was einen guten Kundenservice ausmacht. Chapeau, hier können sich viele Firmen eine Scheibe abschneiden. Vom Service, dem Reservierungs- und Buchungsprozess, der Preisgestaltung und dem Boot waren wir - wie beschrieben - schon zu Beginn überzeugt. Schönes Boot, sauber und in Ordnung. Nach 2 Stunden kam ein Anruf, es gibt schlechtes Wetter, wir sollen in den Süden fahren, was wir sofort taten. Dann, eine Stunde später - wir hatten noch eine Stunde Zeit - der Anruf, es regne, wir sollten zurückkommen. Wir waren zu der Zeit an einer Stelle, an der es gerade nicht regnete und wollten noch kurz warten, weil es an der Küste gerade sehr stark regnete. Das sollte aber nicht möglich sein, so dass wir dann in strömendem Regen zurückfahren mussten. Drei Personen erwarteten und, wobei einer (der Teamleiter?) uns lautstark und wüst beschimpfte, Erklärungen wurden gar nicht abgewartet. Mit drei kleinen Kindern, denen es nicht gut bekommt, wenn man mit voller Geschwindigkeit fährt, ist man scheinbar nur Kunde zweiter Klasse. Anscheinend war man sehr verärgert, dass man ein bisschen nass wurde und vergaß darüber, dass wir die zahlenden Kunden sind. Unsere Sachen wurden teilweise auf den Steg geworfen. Es ist wohl kaum das erste Mal, dass das Wetter am Gardasee schnell umschlägt und man nass wird. Darüber sollte man eine freundliche Behandlung der Kunden nicht vergessen. Ausnehmen muss ich die Dame an der Rezeption, sie kritisierte die ihrer Ansicht nach zu späte Rückkehr, blieb aber freundlich, hörte sich meine Erklärung an und verstand diese auch. Die dort arbeitenden Herren sollte man aber noch mal in vernünftiger Kundenbehandlung schulen.

I was an American living in Germany in 2007 when I rented one of those itty bitty, no license required, boats from the Rappy Folks. I had a ball zipping around the lake and stopping at the various town that surround Lago Di Garda. The Rappy folks were efficient, courteous and very helpful with a newbie who had NEVER gone out on a lake in a boat before. I was then assigned to Brussels, Belgium from 2008 - 2013 and returned to Lago Di Garda each summer I was there and always went to the Rappy Folks to get one of those no license required boats. Always received the same courteous, friendly and efficient treatment from the great staff there. Before I left Europe I took a trip down to Ibiza and enrolled in a course with RYA to get my 10M ICC. I'll be relocating to Vicenza, Italy this summer and Rappy Folks......I"LL BE BACKKKK!! But, this time I'm getting a BIG BOAT. Thanks for your great service.
